Matthew 4:23 (NLT) Jesus traveled throughout the region of Galilee, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness.
Mark 1:14-15 Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, and saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent, ye, and believe the gospel.
The great enterprise of God’s Kingdom is to raise up a company of sons (male/female) who are conformed to His image. After the resurrection of Jesus the apostle Paul started teaching that a people would grow up into the same likeness and fullness of Christ and bring final deliverance and wholeness to a broken world. Rom. 8:19 “For the earnest expectation of the creation waiteth for THE MANIFESTATION OF THE SONS OF GOD.” As J Preston Eby writes: “Why does all creation stand in the wings waiting with bated breath, crowding the door and standing on tiptoe to see the wonderful sight of God’s sons coming into their own? Rom. 8:21 “For the creation itself ALSO shall be delivered...INTO THE GLORIOUS LIBERTY OF THE SONS OF GOD!”
In my “Takeoff Tuesday” 11.12.13 blog titled: Honoring My Spiritual Ancestors (A Cloud of Witnesses) Part 1 (http://dougalexander.weebly.com/1/archives/11-2013/1.html)
I saw that a masterkey to opening the doors set before us in 2014 is by identifying those elders (living and deceased) sent into our lives to help raise us up to full stature in Christ. How then does this square with verses of Scripture that state such things as:
1 John 2:27 (KJV)
But the anointing which ye have received of him abideth in you, and ye need not that any man teach you: but as the same anointing teacheth you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it hath taught you, ye shall abide in Him.
1 John 2 (JB Phillips)
26-28 It is true that I felt I had to write the above about men who would dearly love to lead you astray. Yet I know that the touch of his Spirit never leaves you, and you don’t really need a human teacher. You know that His Spirit teaches you about all things, always telling you the truth and never telling you a lie. So, as He has taught you, live continually in Him. Yes, now, little children remember to live continually in Him. So that if He were suddenly to reveal himself we should still know exactly where we stand, and should not have to shrink away from His presence.
Could it be that the anointing within only recognizes those with the same anointing flowing through others? In my 11.12.13 E-Pistle I started to address this paradox (a seeming contradiction) in the scriptures. In Matthew 23:9 Jesus stated in no uncertain terms: “And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.” The Message illumines this same verse in this way: “Don't set people up as experts over your life, letting them tell you what to do. Save that authority for God; let him tell you what to do. No one else should carry the title of 'Father'; you have only one Father, and he's in heaven.”
Maybe the apostle Paul didn’t get the memo?
